Frequently asked
Do I have to pay for MindQuay?
No. MindQuay is free, and every feature is available to everyone at no cost — docking, morning handoff, Mirror, breathing, Siri capture, privacy lock, review, and reminders. If it has helped, you can leave an optional one-time gift. A gift is never required and unlocks nothing.
Is the Apple Intelligence reflection required?
No. The regular Mirror works without it. On a compatible Apple Intelligence device, you can opt into a deeper reflection made with Apple’s on-device model. You can refresh it, delete it, or turn it off at any time.
Does a one-time gift renew?
No. MindQuay’s visible support options are single purchases and do not renew.
How do I protect MindQuay with Face ID?
Open Settings inside MindQuay and turn on Require Face ID or passcode. MindQuay then covers your thoughts whenever the app leaves the foreground.
Where is my data stored?
MindQuay keeps its working database locally on your device. When Private iCloud Backup is on, it also stores a restorable copy in MindQuay’s private container in your own iCloud account. There is no MindQuay data server, and MindQuay’s developer cannot read either copy.
Do I need Sign in with Apple for backup?
No. Apple identity is optional and separate from Private iCloud Backup. Backup uses the iCloud account already configured on your Apple device. Every MindQuay feature works without adding an Apple identity inside the app.
How do I restore after reinstalling?
Leave Private iCloud Backup on. After reinstalling MindQuay on an iPhone or iPad signed into the same iCloud account, open the app and it will check for saved progress before onboarding. You can see the latest backup status or choose Back up now in Settings.
How do I delete my data?
Open MindQuay and go to Settings > Delete my thoughts & history. MindQuay removes your practice from both the device and the private iCloud backup when backup is enabled. To remove the backup itself, choose Turn off and remove under Private iCloud Backup. Deleting the app removes the local copy but intentionally leaves an enabled iCloud backup available for restoration.
How do I capture a thought with Siri?
Say “Dock a thought with MindQuay”. Siri asks what you want to set down and MindQuay stores it locally for your next docking ritual.
Does MindQuay work offline?
Yes. Docking, morning handoff, Beacon, the structured Mirror, breathing, and review do not depend on a MindQuay server. Backup resumes when iCloud becomes available. StoreKit purchases and optional Apple services use Apple’s systems.
Is MindQuay a therapy or medical app?
No. MindQuay is a self-care tool for winding down and clearing your head. It is not medical care, therapy, or a crisis service, and it is not a substitute for professional help. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional. If you're in crisis in the US, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple as well; MindQuay cannot issue them directly. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and choose the MindQuay purchase. If you run into trouble, email us at [email protected] and we'll point you in the right direction.
