Terms of Use

Last updated: July 17, 2026

These terms are written in plain English on purpose. They cover your use of the MindQuay app for iPhone and iPad and this website. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we'll explain.

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using MindQuay, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Because MindQuay is distributed through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Where these terms and Apple's EULA conflict, Apple's EULA controls for matters it covers.

2. The service

MindQuay is a self-care app for iPhone and iPad (iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 or later). It offers a docking ritual, a morning handoff for carried thoughts, a daily Beacon attention practice, structured reflection, optional on-device Apple Intelligence reflection on compatible devices, guided breathing, review, Siri capture, a privacy lock, optional reminders, and private iCloud backup.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use MindQuay on Apple devices you own or control. We don't sell or transfer the app itself to you — you're licensing it.

3. Free app & optional support

MindQuay is free. Every feature is available to everyone at no cost, and no purchase unlocks functionality. If you would like to support the app, you can purchase an optional one-time gift through Apple:

Prices are in USD; App Store pricing may vary by region. Here's how billing works:

4. MindQuay is not medical advice

MindQuay is a self-care tool. It is not medical care, therapy, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a crisis service. It is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). In an emergency, call 911.

5. Your content

You own your thoughts and everything you write; we claim no rights to them. MindQuay stores its working database locally with Apple’s SwiftData and, while Private iCloud Backup is on, stores a restorable copy in your own iCloud account. MindQuay has no content server, and we have no access to your writing. Optional Sign in with Apple identity information remains in your device Keychain and is separate from your content. You can erase your thoughts and history from both local storage and the enabled backup with "Delete my thoughts & history" in Settings.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

7. Disclaimer of warranties

MindQuay is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, MindQuay will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is capped at the amount you paid for MindQuay in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add features or the law changes. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll say so clearly on this site or in the app. Continuing to use MindQuay after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of your state of residence in the United States.
